72 Expectations

This episode (even though there have been new episodes every week) marks the first time we’ve been in the hatch in several weeks. Rather than have a guest, we caught up with Tig and how she’s doing, and we also checked in with the professor. After all of that, we had a discussion about expectations. Hear all we had to say at earwolf.com

  1. I’ve only listened to the beginning of the most recent episode, but I got all tingly and let out two very audible “WHOOS!” while driving to pick up my daughter from day care yesterday and I heard Tig’s news.

Keep wrangling (seriosly – for a looooooooong time),
    Marc

  2. We love you Tig!! I was so happy to hear the news that you’re cancer-free! It’s the way to be (just like ’83). Keep rocking at life! I’m gonna buy Tig Notaro: Live, as soon as it’s available. I keep clicking the link on louisck.net, but it’s coming up with a (Error, Page Not Found) thing. Annoying, but I’m sure it’ll be up very soon.

You, Kyle and David…and Aaron…are some of the reasons I’ve been doing stand-up and writing more and more. Entertaining people is one of my favorite things on the planet and as long and I’m here, I’m gonna keep doing stand-up, making music and writing in my other projects.

Keep up the awesome, stay in school, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.

    Love you guys,

    -Doug

  3. So over the moon to hear the update – I was listening while on a run, and it made my morning – heard the new This American Life too, and am so happy for all of you. Time for a string of ridiculously good news now!

  4. I just listened to this week’s podcast and also downloaded Tig Notaro: Live. Tig – you are amazing! When I heard the cancer-free diagnosis on the podcast, I almost started crying (on the subway). Listening to your set at Largo was a revelation of the human spirit. I work in the field of cancer policy; I am constantly astounded by the fortitude and strength of people diagnosed with cancer – not to mention how you laid bare the other events of your life, C. Dif and your mother’s death. I have rarely felt this kind of connection with someone I have never met.
The line between tragedy and comedy can be fine; and you balanced that line expertly. A truly remarkable performance from a remarkable individual. May the future bring you nothing but good health, success, and love.
